I went as far as there were footsteps

I went as far as there were footsteps,

I had the courage, and capacity, no doubt,

I went as far as the convoys greeted me.

I had to move forward, but the steps stopped, 

uninterested to explore, adamant to return.

Instead of waiting for convoys, and looking for footsteps,

if I would have moved on the path ahead fervidly,

today, convoys would have been following my footsteps.
