– रौनक सिसोदिया — — — — — मध्यम वर्ग  –     Middle class माप           –     Measurement आरक्षण     –     Reservation सक्षमता     –     Ability “Reservation”, the word is heard so often that we have turned a blind eye to it. We have “accepted” it. We fail to acknowledge the sufferings of a middle class general category family. Someone may counter argue that why socially and educationally backward people should suffer? Don’t they have right for an equal treatment? I completely agree with the “equal treatment” but not with the special treatment. It is not going to help the society. For example, we even have reservation in medical colleges. I don’t get, how caste is going to decide how qualified and able, a doctor is. Not all people eligible for reservation are poor and not all ‘general category people’ are rich. It is ironical that even though ‘untouchability’ is a crime but every media report possibly polarise caste dynamics. Take even the recent example of presidential nomination. Both Mr. Ram Nath Kovind and Mrs. Meira Kumar are great political leaders. But every report I read, started with their caste. The dreams of millions are going to die the natural death of ignorance. It is very unlikely to happen unless we elect people for who they are. With great reforms in country, I hope we start promoting talent rather than caste. As they say, “hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”
