A darkness hidden deep inside,

A shadow cast upon the heart,

A weight that drags us down,

Tearing our hopes apart.

And yet, a tiny light of hope,

Still flickers in the night,

A glimmer of something better,

A dream that feels within our sight.

But as we wander in the sea,

With unfulfilled desires in tow,

The waves crash down upon us,

And scratch at wounds we thought would never grow.

Every day feels like a death,

A struggle just to keep on going,

As we grapple with the darkness,

And try to keep the light still glowing.

But even as the sea rages on,

And the pain becomes too much to bear,

The hope still burns within us,

A flame that we refuse to snuff out or to spare.

For we know that one day we will find,

A way to heal the wounds and scars,

And that the darkness deep inside,

Will be vanquished by the light of the stars.
