Hey we are the supermoms

We turn houses into homes

We are there when you need us

Cleaning up your mess without fuss

Hey we are the supermoms

We play chefs, nurses, teachers, drivers with aplomb

We are there even if you don’t ask us to be

For us it is always you first and never me

Hey we are the supermoms

Teary-eyed on your first school day and same on prom

We feel each of your pain and ache

From your bruised knee to the first heartbreak

We earn, we feed, we cuddle, we keep you warm

We stand by you, we protect you from harm

We teach you right from wrong

We nurture you to be sensitive and strong

We do not know all the tricks

We do not have all the fixes

We are not perfect we falter we stumble

We get upset, we cry, we frown, we grumble

Hey we are the supermoms

We get done what needs to be done

At noon, at dusk or with the rising sun

We do not always have a plan

But we always do the best we can
