In the dark, passions stilled
Her eyelashes brush against my cheek
Nothing else stirs in my world
This is the peace sages seek
But
Their beloved is harder to please
Till their passions are stilled likewise
And their love is as deep
Then their union with All That Is
Fills them, too, with similar bliss
These two tales of love and love
Are similar and yet not the same
One speaks of 'darling', 'sweetheart', 'dear'
The other really speaks no name
Mine is the ‘equal to’ sign in a sum
Their's is what they themselves become
