On a moonless night,

On an ancient mountain

In a holy lake,

Still like a mirror,

I see, the Milky Way,

From where I came

And where I’ll go,

When this dream is done.

I look down entranced,

At the stars.

They speak to me

Of belonging

Suddenly, unexpectedly,

A single drop

Falls on the water,

Rippling the image.

A tear of joy,

From my heart

Overflowing with love

To my home.

Patiently waiting.

From a reflection

To a reflection,

Both moved

One way & another.

One whispering,

‘I am yours’

The other,

‘We know!’.

On the far shore

I hear a bird

Softly sing

Perhaps it, too

Kept awake

On this enchanted night

And is waiting

Like me

To fly away....
