आत्मानं सततं रक्षेत्

उतिष्ठत। जाग्रत। प्राप्य वरान्निबोधत।

[Arise. Awake. And stop not till the goal is reached.]

उठो। जागो। और तब तक नहीं रुकनाजब तक कि लक्ष्य हासिल न हो।

आत्मानं सततं रक्षेत्।

One must save oneself under any circumstances.

सर्वशास्त्रपुराणेषु ब्यासस्य वचनं ध्रुवम्।

परोपकारः पुण्याय पापाय परपीडनम्॥

Amidst all the scriptures and Puranas, know this statement of Vyasa to be true, that doing good to others conduces to merit, and doing harm to others leads to sin.
