ISKCON Founder Swami Prabhupada's 125th birth Anniversary: Narendra Modi released a special commemorative coin in his memory.

PM Narendra Modi had released a special commemorative coin on the occasion of the 125th Birth Anniversary of Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada on 1 Sept 2021. PM Modi launched a coin of 125 and also addressed the gathering at 4:30 PM via video conferencing.

Swami Prabhupada founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) also known as the "Hare Krishna movement".

ISKCON has translated Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta and other Vedic literature into 89 languages, playing the most generic role in the dissemination of Vedic literature across the world.

Prabhupada had also led the foundation of over a hundred temples and wrote several books, teaching Bhakti Yoga to the world. On this occasion, The Union Culture Minister also attended the ceremony.

Surprisingly, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada swiftly entered the port of New York City on Sept. 17, 1965, with few Americans who majorly took notice. But he was not merely another immigrant. Being on a great mission to introduce the ancient teachings of Vedic India into mainstream America. When Srila Prabhupada passed away on Nov14, 1977, at the age of 81, his mission proved successful. He had founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and spread the enlightenment of the Lord Krishna into a worldwide confederation of more than 100 temples, ashrams, and cultural centers to promote holism.

Srila Prabhupada was born on 1st Sept 1896, to a pious Hindu family in Calcutta. Raised up in British-controlled India, Abhay became involved with Mahatma Gandhi’s civil disobedience movement to secure independence for his nation.

However, it was 1922 meeting with a prominent scholar and religious leader, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, proved most influential on Abhay’s future calling. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta was the most prominent leader in the Gaudiya Vaishnava denomination, a monotheistic tradition within the broad Hindu culture. In the English world, Abhay became a disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta in 1933 and resolved to carry out his mentor’s request. Abhay, later recognized by the honorific A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, spent the next 32 years preparing for his journey west.

At age of 69 in 1965, Srila Prabhupada visited New York aboard a cargo ship. The journey was treacherous, and the elderly spiritual teacher suffered two heart attacks on the ship. Arriving in the US with just 7 dollars in Indian rupees and his translations of sacred Sanskrit texts, Srila Prabhupada began to share the timeless wisdom of Krishna consciousness.

He is the ultimate messenger of peace and goodwill resonated with the proud youths, some of whom came forward to become serious disciples of Lord Krishna's tradition and rules.

Let's chant some songs on Srila Prabhupada Pranati with deep meanings -

yan-nathyamano natanatha-natho

su-mangalam pascima-jangaleshu

gaurangacandras caranam dadhati

namami tam sri-prabhupadadevam

I offer my respectful obeisances to His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Because of his prayers, Lord Gaurangacandra, the king of dancers, has placed His auspicious lotus feet in the jungle of the Western countries.
