RELATIONSHIPS
THEN
Greatgrandfather migrated from Srirangam
To get away from hatred towards brahminism
He came to Mysuru which was under Wodeyar dynasty
Mysuru was prospering as a princely city.
He came and settled with a dignified profession
Was not satisfied to be happy alone in protection
He made his young nephews to come
So they could study to live in freedom.
Grandfather and cousins lived in a joint family
They all grew up and went to school happily
Grandfather got good education and a prime position
Cousins went to work got married to live on their own.
Even after moving out cousins maintained relationships
With grandfather father families for many decades
They had deep respect for grandfather father benevolence
Which culminated in affinity among their daughters sons.
NOW
Relationship restricts to one generation and friends
Cousins meet occasionally at family events
They are in different cities and countries rather
Their children hardly know one another.
As years roll when cousins pass away
Their children far removed from family
Third generation cousins will become total strangers
Unless they desire to maintain relationships.
