The day has arrived yet again
For us to recap what we did in life;
Not to speak of other troubles,
Omicron is leading the train.
Past two decades we have had
Some endemic or other to suffer;
Seems no respite to plan or be glad;
Time goes on and on, oh dear.
Add to that climate change,
Rainy days and extreme weather,
Cyclones and depression within range;
Had to bear them all together.
What's more to come, we don't know;
Scientists are themselves learning;
They give guidelines for us to follow;
But many have their own style of living.
However the new year brings a little cheer
In this gloomy period and the years ahead;
Let us all have faith and hope, dear,
That life will change to better instead.
