GOD'S AVATARS
Lord Vishnu took many avatars to save earth
Ten of them are prominent for their worth.
Sath Yug:
King Manu with his people took a boat to avoid flooding
It turned out to be huge deluge flowing
Matsya avatar assumed a huge size quickly
To support boat on its back to save humanity.
Mount mandara was used as staff for Samudra manthan
Snake Vasuki served as rope to churn the ocean
During churning mount mandara starts sinking
Koorma avatar in ocean bottom prevents mount from falling.
Demon Hiranyaksha attained super powers in ambition
Heavily drunk he hid the earth in cosmic ocean
Varaha avatar used his tusk to kill him
To bring earth back in it's original spin.
King Hiranyakashapu with his boon behaved beastly
His son Prahlad was a staunch Vishnu devotee
Several times Hiranyakashapu tried to kill son Prahlad
Narasimha avatar killed king to save Prahlad being damned.
Threta Yug:
Asura king Bali acquired immense powers physically
He was also known for piety and charity
Vaman avatar asked for three steps one each on earth and sky
Third step king offered his head to go to netherworld.
Kshatriya kings had become very authoritarian
They were to be taught a lesson
Parshuram avatar had axe gifted by Shiva
He killed unruly kings to bring back order and euphoria.
Ravan prayed intensely to Shiv and obtained boons
He attained immortality and enormous powers
He abducted Sri Sita while they were in exile
Ram avatar mobilized a huge army to kill and end his life.
Dwapar Yug:
Pandavs and Kauravs are cousins living together
Kauravs became unruly and wanted pandavs to surrender
Krishna avatar tried his best to avoid confrontation
He helped pandavs win war and gave them protection.
Balarama avatar of Seshnag also appeared in the same era
As an elder brother and companion to avatar Krishna
He fought along with Krishna to kill Kans
And Pralambasura and other demons.
Kali Yug:
Lakshmi left Vaikunta leaving Lord Vishnu in agony
Lord Vishnu appeared as Srinivasa on earth in search of Lakshmi
He married Padmavati and Lakshmi joined them in brief
He decided to remain on earth to bless people in grief.
Sidharth Gautam lived in his father's kingdom
His father didn't grant Siddharth freedom
There was poverty sickness death all around in reality
Siddharth turned Buddha avatar preached mankind liberty.
There will be massive corruption to gain wealth and power
Leading to chaotic and degenerative pressure
By the end of Kali Yug Kali avatar will appear
To stop all destruction and restore cosmic order.
Sath Yug:
Sath Yug will commence when truth and purity abide
And the time cycle will restart it is prophesied.
Lord Shiv took nineteen avatars to protect universe
Three of them are prominent for their works.
Sat/Treta/Dwapar Yugs:
Shiv's anger led to birth of Durvasa one of the legendary rishis
Durvasa is known to have given many curses and boons
Durvasa's anger led to gods and devas for samudra manthan
His boon led Krishna to give Draupati unending cloth during vastrabharan.
Dwapar Yug:
Shiv allowed a part of him in the birth of Hanuman
Hanuman acquired immense power and devotion
He became a staunch devotee of Sri Ram
And helped him avenge Ravan's egotism.
Shiv obliged Drona praying fervently for a son with immense power
Ashwathama was born with a divine gem to be free from hunger
He remained a last warrior in the Mahabharata war
He was immortal and was cursed by Krishna to live and suffer.
