Parvati wanted to take bath
Shiv had gone out in a wrath
Parvati created me with her skin dust and waste
Told me not to allow anyone inside in haste.
Shiv came back and remained haughty
Wanted to meet at any cost his wife Parvati
I refused his entry come what may
Shiv cut my head without delay.
Parvati came and saw me lying dead
Shiv asked Parvati how dare I stopped
Parvati told Shiv I was her dear son
And to bring me back to life soon.
Shiv ordered his ganas to look for any head facing north
And to bring it fast so he can give me life henceforth
His ganas could find only an elephant in that position
They cut its head immediately to fulfill the mission.
Now I have life with an elephant head
Shiv declared me as supreme lead
They named me Ganapati Ganesh
Also Lambodara Vinayaka Vignesh.
As brahman I kept Shivling on ground at Gokarna
Ans as scribe for Mahabharat composed by Sage Vyasa
I circumambulated my parents to win against brother Kartikeya
I broke my tusk while fighting with Lord Parashurama.
My creation is being celebrated today on this chaturthi
