My Heart Forgot to Beat!
Last Spring and Summer
My heart
Forgot to beat.
It sang.
Then came Autumn
You shed me.
Like the trees
Their leaves.
Came Christmas
And the New Year.
Both had Eves
But not I.
Spring's back again.
At last!
And my heart
Still sings.
Alas!
Only Requiems!
