TV crew

on the way

to record

her memories,

they told her.

She wondered...

How much

of herself

should she

share?

Should she

dare...

She'd had

a good life

a fulfilling one.

Though

it started

on the wrong foot.

She married young

to a wastrel,

who cussed

like a sailor,

lived

like a king.

The sex

was good,

but

in other ways

he treated her

like a whore.

One day

she decided

she'd have

no more.

She ended

her marriage.

And his life.

Never

got caught.

Took up

a job and

studied nights.

Completed

her MBA,

rose high

in her company.

She wasn't bereft

of men in her life.

Some

she treated

with love,

others

like used clothes.

Her job, her focus.

Now retired,

she sits on her

well-earned balcony

overlooking

the serene waters

of the lake.

But she herself

was serene no more.

Not today.

This waiting

had rekindled

ghosts of the past.

And one

she could feel

was touching her.

Only way

to exorcise them:

"Talk to the TV crew."

She decided

to tell them,

tell them all:

profanity,

abuse,

erotica!

Her whole colourful life!
