Am I an Atheist, an Agnostic or a Believer?
Someone asked
if I was an Atheist?
An Agnostic?
A believer in God?
I don't know.
I've never used
a label for myself.
Or for most people.
But I do believe
in a Supreme Power
that runs
this universe.
Call it the Universe itself,
or God, or Prabhu,
or Allah, or a myriad
other names.
And, I have had
my fair share
of interactions
with this Supreme Power.
One which saved my life, too.
But I don't
believe in
overt rituals.
It's always been
a one-on-one equation.
Much like
with a good boss.
One doesn't suck up
to a good boss!
That usually
backfires.
Nor does one challenge
and needle him or her!
That, too,
could backfire
Occasionally,
one does advise the boss
on possible
course corrections.
So, too,
with the Supreme Power.
ADVISING?
THE SUPREME POWER?
Yes, I do.
In utmost sincerity!
Does all that qualify me
as an "Atheist"? An "Agnostic"?
Or just me?
I don't know!
