Ever since the NDA government came to power in May 2024, one phenomenon which sticks out like a sore thumb is the continual disregard of the overwhelming governance mandate to the ruling party. Sadly this strategy of the Opposition parties has more often than not invited public ridicule and rejection. This failure to debate rationally on substantive issues in Parliament has now pushed them back to a point of no return.
The I.N.D.I.A alliance which was intended to give the NDA a tough fight has now failed miserably in its central objective. At best, it is a wobbly coalition of regional satraps angling for the pole position in the race to dethrone PM Modi.
The public mood as on date, even a layman will vouch for it, points to a landslide victory for the ruling party at the Centre. Barring a miracle, the Opposition does not have ghost of a chance to stop the Modi juggernaut . In fact, the Indian National Congress looks like a rudderless ship drifting in stormy seas. A weak Opposition is not a healthy sign for the oldest democracy in the world
