What would we do if the weather never changed?
Imagine a constant mild and balmy temperature
Being the status quo. Day in day out
No matter where you are.
The implications are stupendous.
Half our conversation would instantly be obliterated. Awkward silences would litter our existence and heated arguments could never be interrupted by a change of subject to global warming.
Just imagine. No international conferences, no talk of carbon footprint. No naming of tornadoes, no seismic measuring of earthquakes and such.
Pompeii would still be a living city and probably a still a tourist destination for different reasons.
And, heaven forbid, no seasonal fashions, skiing trips or Winter Olympics.
We would be lost. And industries would become irrelevant for the most part.
Just considering the implications of this scenario makes me more than grateful for the unpredictability and inconsistencies of the subject
No matter your circumstances, with the vagaries of the weather, you can never be at a loss for words.
