CHILDHOOD
The journey begins with the first cry
The tears that doesn't wreak the heart
But sets life in motion
Sprinkling moments of joy
Each step taken marks a memory
Not a year, not a month
Rather each day, an anniversary
The little fingers begin to hold
To unravel mysteries
To let life's new chapters unfold
From crawling to walking
Sometimes even falling
The road offers no smooth course
Wounds of innocence
Heal before thoughts could make them sore
Childhood slowly walks away
With imprints of either black or white
With zero understanding
That there could be something grey
Life gradually begins to happen
When innocent emotions get marred
With thoughts bruised and scarred
If life could offer
Episodes of revisiting phases of life
Not all but some certainly would
Long to go back to Childhood.
