Don't disturb me I am writing

Dear death,

If you have to come you will.

I will not say I welcome you because that will be false.

I will not say that I will close my gates to stop you because that will be stupid.

When you come do it quietly without making a huge show because I have lived at peace with myself and with everyone.

I have no enemies and you can walk in with grace and style because I love my solitude.

And I have one last request.

Just do your job quietly and don't disturb me if you find me writing.

Let me finish my last poem before you take me away.
