My tiny fingers wrap around yours;

colossal, feeling lost in this sense of serendipity,

yet feeling so safe- treasured, loved.

Your gorgeous face beams under the sunlight,

Your auburn hair turned golden in the glow,

Yet what steals my breath is the sight of your twinkling eyes.

I know what this is; I've heard about it from so many,

read about it in books of fantasy, witnessed it in unreal movies,

and seen it in the dreams of my own.

Love. I realise now- this is what love feels like,

tender, like the fragile wings of beautiful butterflies,

Yet still fierce and passionate, like an unbroken storm.

Brazenly, it dawns on me that you love me too. Strange, isn't it?

You're so you; pretty, wholesome, and whole, and I'm

me, a void of the darkest feelings given form.

Your lips caress my cheek, and I touch the spot, numb,

Your touch lingers right there, and I look up to see your doting smile,

And unabashedly, I grin back at you, my love.

You hold me to your chest, an embrace of diaphanous warmth,

We are a portrait of intimacy, and I hear the fast beating of your heart,

against my own, oneirically wrapped in an ephemeral, fugacious world of ours.

Unfettered by the threatening glare of storms that bypass us,

I know in my heart, nothing could ever take you from me,

For despite our mortal forms, we are just two souls deeply, unmistakably, surreally in love.

Adoringly, I gaze at you as you sleep, innocently in your dreams,

and I turn my head towards the cascading moonlight glancing upon us,

thanking Him above, for giving me you.
